MEsite is an "ME information site" dealing with News, Description
of the disease ME, Symptoms, Treatment, Children, Pacing, Social consequences,
Research, Literature and also with International issues such as Classification
problems.
MEsite was born out of despair - despair because of the profound
lack of knowledge about ME - amongst doctors, health and social authorities as
well as amongst patients in Denmark - thanks to the term CFS (ME/CFS) which
really has mudded the ME waters and put patients in an extremely and
unacceptable vulnerable situation being the victims of the medical believe that
CFS is identical to ME and that CFS is identical to CF (chronic fatigue). In
other words: ME, CFS and CF are mostly believed to be one entity - a psychiatric
one.
Current
Status/Affiliations
Wanting to correct this misinterpretation and along the way contribute to a
changed attitude by informing exclusively on Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (Ramsay),
the idea of creating MEsite occurred.
Membership/Facilities/Services
In November 2003 MEsite was first aired in a Danish version.
Continuously encouraged by many people, who found that this problem was more or
less a worldwide on, to translate the site into English, MEsite was aired in an
English version in October 2005.
