There are many stories of secret files
relating to myalgic encephalomyelitis and the way that establishment
organisations and some individuals have acted in creating the current
national/international scandal regarding the misinformation and treatment of
this disease.
Valerie Eliot Smith has recently applied
and succeeded in getting the National Archives to release information
between the Department of Health and some individuals regarding ME.
These documents, released under the
Freedom of Information act, are quite telling.

The files will also be stored on IiME's
site

awaiting approval)
First impressions are disbelief that
individuals' opinions/statements of the classification of ME were taken as
fact by the establishment with so little evidence.
There is little doubt that a whole
generation of sick and vulnerable patients have been adversely affected by
decisions and dogma introduced between 1984 and 1992.
This national scandal has been allowed
to fester and ME patients have been allowed to die with little being done to
change things - by the governments, academic institutions, media, charities
or businesses whose profits have been dependent on misinformation about this
disease.
