Fundraising for IiMER during April - May 2023 >
27 EU Marathons
Mike Harley finished his monumental effort in running 27 EU Marathons as a challenge to raise awareness and funds for ME. This outstanding venture, carried out over many years, came its conclusion recently when Mike completed the Rome marathon in March - click here
Mike Harley's challenge was described in this article - which also has links to Mike's own pages
[see here].
An amazing effort finally concluded.
But then the Lichtenstein marathon came into the frame for this summer.
And so Mike also entered that - see here.
And now Mike is planning to run in Bergen, Norway, in April 2023.

Rosalynde 's Another 31 days in May
What's special about May? Each year May is Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue (ME/CFS) awareness month.
This book is a selection of 31 short poems to raise better awareness and understanding as well as to raise funds for the charity Invest in ME Research.
These poems have been written from my own personal feelings and experience of living with M.E. for over 20 years.
They also echo the thoughts and feelings of so many others who suffer like myself.
My poems aim to portray the harsh reality of living with a long term chronic illness.
I want this suffering to end.
So please support me and Invest in ME Research

Walk for ME
Walk for ME 2023 is well and truly up and running so please do come and join in and let us know if you know if anyone who would do a walk or other event for you.
The original idea behind Walk for ME was that friends and family members did a sponsored walk on behalf of a loved one with ME as they are unable to, but this has expanded over the years with people doing walks, runs, swims, climbs and bike rides in countries across the world. People can do any event, any distance whenever they like!
We will again be supporting Invest in ME Research as they focus solely on
biomedical research into ME.
We hope you will join the team this year and get involved.
Please do contact us if you would like to do an event or know someone who would.
Please do join this year’s Facebook event page at
https://www.facebook.com/events/1266868370531625/ for updates on
people’s events and fundraising activities!
To join the team just set up a justgiving page for Invest in ME Research and link it to the Walk for ME team page at www.justgiving.com/team/walkforme2023
Everyone is welcome to join however large or small the event!
The charity is happy to supply t-shirts and other fundraising goodies to people doing events for them too.

'Blue Sunday' - the Tea Party For M.E. 2023 for Invest in ME Research
C
This year's event is Sunday 14th May, with people with M.E. and their loved ones invited to hold a Tea
Party For Invest in ME Research in whatever way suits them.
Anna was diagnosed with ME in 2010 and it affects every minute of every day.
'Blue Sunday' - the Tea Party For M.E came about when Anna wanted to do something herself
and, although ill health restricted her in a way that means she was unable to raise money by running
a marathon or doing a sponsored swim, was able to set up this initiative by asking that everyone
donate the price they would expect to pay for a cup of tea and a slice of cake in a cafe, to ME.
Invest in ME Research is an independent UK charity finding, funding and facilitating a strategy of biomedical research into ME.
The charity is run by volunteers - patients or parents of children with ME - with no paid staff.
Overheads are kept to a minimum and all funds raised to go to promoting education of, and funding for biomedical research into, ME.
Our efforts are focused on setting up a UK Centre of Excellence for ME which will provide proper examinations,
diagnosis and in time treatment(s)/cure(s).
